How to get inspired.

So I know that those who wish write a book want to know where to start. They want to ask another author how they do it. I have been tempted myself to do the same thing at times. Sometimes I just wanted to give and forget about my dream to write.

I started doing online research trying to find other people who give advice on how to write. It all discouraged me even more. I didn't know if I was going to finish my first book and get it to where it is today.

Nonetheless I kept writing. I could give my tips on how to write, which I will, but the best advice I can give is write the way you want to. I have no pointers for other inspiring authors. I have no way to inspire, unless reading what I wrote inspires you.

My tips on how I write is when an idea comes to me I write it down. Everything that is there I write it down on paper. As for writing the story. I start at the beginning. With "The Dark of Night" I started with the beginning, exactly what the beginning of the book starts out as, but it was then chapter one. I think when I was on either chapter 2 or 3 is when the ending popped into my head. At that moment it wasn't the end. I was still trying to figure out where to put it. It took a few days to figure out where it should go. When it finally got it spot in the book I could finally go on to finished writing.

Apparently it isn't going to be the last time I write a book that. When I started the 2nd I got the ending as well. It actually helps me get the beginning to the end. It helps me know where I need to get to. There is still a lot of work in between. One I have a beginning and an end I find it so much easier to figure out how to get everything in between.

As for other tips. I have none. I only have what it is I do. It may not be perfect, even in the end. These are my ideas and not everyone will like them. It may not be how you write. Just put it on paper, or on computer, whichever is the way you write.

My advice to you is write how you want to. It is the only advice I can give that will be the most helpfully.

Thank you!

It's that time of year again!

It's that time of year again. The time when everyone is racing around to buy presents. The time when everyone gets stressed when things get out of sorts. When they can't find the one special thing that someone in the family has been asking Santa for.

I know I'm guilty of stuff like that. Mine, not so much those reason per say.  I have other reason to stress, but none is a big deal.

I know it has been awhile since the last time I posted, but I need to post something. Yesterday on my Facebook page that on December 17th until the 19th my book The Dark of Night will be available free for all you kindle users out there.

And the count down begins!

Remember on the 17th to the 19th it will be free to download on any kindle or device you use the kindle app on.

Don't have a kindle? You can download it for the PC and you can download it on your phones and other tablets. Be sure to do that before or on the 17th to get The Dark of Night for free. 3 days only. After that I may have it marked down for as long as I can before Christmas and the New Year.

Be sure find me on Facebook and Twitter. J. R. Tyger on Facebook and @author_jrtyger on Twitter.

Crazy!

These last few weeks have been crazy with supposed threats and now today all of area schools are containing all activities inside because there is someone running around on foot in the area with a gun. What is this world coming to?

These are the people who need help. They need to talk to someone, not have a gun in their hands. If these people would just get help in some shape or form things would be less tragic. Even if they can't seem to get the help themselves, I would hope there is someone out there that would do their best to help them get the help they need.

Yes, I know you can't force someone to go see a therapist, but maybe all they need is for someone to listen to what they have to say. They may not need a professional. All they may need is your ear to listen to what is hurting them.

Aside from those horrible things happening in my community at the moment I haven't added anything in while because I have been writing. I ended up with an earache. For a week I couldn't locate ear drops in a store. that is until yesterday when I had to get a pack of wipes for my daughter who uses them after she is done on her potty. I finally found ear drops in the baby section of all places.

With my earache came an ache in my jaw and it my my eye irritated as well. Now that I found drops to treat the ache I can finally get back to writing.

Aches and pains

I don't know if I had earaches as a baby/toddler, but to have them as an adult sucks. I have had this for at least 3 days now. It all started on Monday when I had a dream that my left side of my face was swollen. when i woke up the whole left side of my face hurt like crazy. Not swollen thankfully. I used Ambesol since I though it was my gums hurting really bad, but later I realized it was hurting more at the hinge of my jaw. Later in the afternoon is when my ear started having shooting pain.

Yesterday it quit hurting, but today it is back. So now at 11:05 p.m. I am going to put on a warm compress and lay down. I'm going to get some rest in hopes that the pain will go away soon, so i can think freely and not worry about pain as I try and write. I really want to finish the next book and get everything I need to done so everyone can have that and I can start on the last of the trilogy.

I am hoping this earache doesn't last too long. Happy reading to all my readers out there. Remember you can find The Dark of Night on Amazon or you type Amazon into your browser, but make sure you search on Amazon by typing in The Dark of Night by J. R. Tyger that way you can find it. It apparently isn't high on the list to be found on the first page of searching for it.

Thank you!

Something new

To my lovely readers:

I maybe working on the next part of Emilie's story, but I have also started something new. This new one has no name yet, but I hope it will turn into a witchy good book.

This new one is going to be about a circle of witches. These witches are suppose to be of all male until one of the six of the group never got to produce that male child and only produced a female child before the six in the circle were killed.

How they were killed will be revealed in the book.

So when turning sixteen each oldest male in the family receives a letter from their father on where to find each new member and a book that each of their fathers had. That is also when they learn they each have a special power and why they are needed in this circle.

I haven't worked out all the details yet, but each member has a different purpose. This in this circle you will a lot about the circles that came before them, as will the characters in the book. I will tell you though tthat this one has most of the characters names so far. I will provide them at a later time. Along with a description of them. I don't want to reveal too much. That is what reading the book is for.

Thank you for reading. Questions and comments of any sort are welcome, but keep in mind rudeness will not be tolerated. I believe in my religion. I believe whatever it is you do to another will come back to you times three. Do not judge and I will not judge you.

Thank you!

A place of panic

The area I live in and the school district my oldest child, along with other family members and children of friends attend is in a little tizzy at the moment. On the 25th apparently some 21 year old man in a drunken state was talking about the mass shooting that has happened in this country over the years. How he knew the one that did the shooting and that they are "friends." Not sure how much is true, or if it was only for his drunken state.
This man attends college at our local university. I live about 3 to 5 miles away from Lock Haven University. The same college that he attends and so does one of my good friends and a family member. As far as i know there has been no threat to shoot out our local middle school or high school, but the parents in the area are in a panic.
It seems the school knows about it and the rumor of this man to attempt to get into the schools and shoot people. It has been claimed that he agrees with the other shooters from the other mass shootings that it is okay to go into a school or other type of building and shoot people for bullying. It has been said that his friends say he would be one who would do something like a mass shooting. Someone has even said that he had a line from a Green Day song "I'm not sick, but I'm not well" posted on his Facebook status update.

I for one do not know how much of this stuff is true. I sit at home while my child, my only son, the only remaining male on my husband's side to carry on his last name and bloodline, is at school. I am very concerned, and his safety is my first priority, but he is only a kindergartener and the supposed threats are to our middle and high school. I will worry until he is home safe and sound and in my arms. I will worry tomorrow as I put him on the school bus yet again and hope he comes home safe to me yet again.

I have to believe that my child is being kept safe. In his school there is only one way to get and that is going through only one door at the main entrance and then being buzzed into the main office. You have to get pasted them before you can even get into the rest of the school. On the other hand there is no metal detectors to see if some adult or child for that matter is carrying something that could harm any of the children. I have to keep believing in my faith that our protectors will bring them all home safe and sound.

As much as I know my child loves going to school, most mornings that is, I am eventually going to home school both of my children. Mainly since my son has decided he wants to go into acting. That will require home schooling for the most part. There isn't a school around this area that would work with an actors schedule.

So as you go about your day please keep our area in your thoughts and prayers that nothing horrible happens. I don't care what religion you are, how you pray, I believe everyone has a right to whatever religion they believe in. Everywhere on Earth right now needs thoughts and prayers to keep people and animals safe.

Thank you for reading. I hope that you will not have to hear about any horrible news from my area. Thoughts and prayers welcome from whatever religion. Questions and comments welcome.

Thank you!

Insights

I don't want people to wonder how I pick names for my characters and how I get the situations my characters is in through out the book. I am going to let you into my mind a little bit in how I work things out. I have recently downloaded an app for my phone to record things so this will help me a little more get into the character's mind I hope.

How I get my characters names: Okay first I go with names I like and would have picked for my kids, but never used or there is people, crushes and whatnot, that I start with their names. For The Dark of Night I at first used my actual first name and what I'm called by my closest friends for the main character. I used it because it was a name I knew. I will admit I hate my name, but I wouldn't change for anything. I then changed it by googling baby names for the year of birth of the character's to find popular names for that year. Emilie I believe was in the top 10 maybe even the top 5 of girl names in what would have been her year of birth. Now because I love unique spellings for names I had to change it a little. The spelling I used is a popular way of spelling for anyone who uses that name now.
I got the friends name from baby names site as well. As for the others are mostly celebrity stars names, from acting to singing, that I like a lot. Some even the characters they play in shows/movies. Character twin brother had a different name to start. He actually started out as Zach, but I decided to change my mind about it because I think Austin went a little better with what I picture him to be than when he originally was thought up. Although I will admit he is named after one of my son's favorite show on one of our favorite stations for the kids.
Our lovely Rob is from my favorite actor crush, but doesn't have his look. At first he did, but I changed his looks. The looks come from another actor I like.

Relationships between characters: The big family has always been a big family. They all have the same last name with the fathers of both sets of four kids were twin brother themselves. They are a close family, but things did get harder to keep track of when all the kids are under one roof. That was how Em's condition of emotions went unnoticed for so long.
When Emilie was younger she would run into Robert when they were visiting. They liked hanging out together with Averie, which is Emilie's best friend along with being family. Rob might be the first of everyone to realize she wasn't herself. (Can't give too much away since there is still more to come.)
Megan cam on the scene when her and her friends were doing what everyone does best and bullies behind someone back. When realizing what she did wrong she decided to befriend Emilie and from there so far they are good friends. I can only hope that they end up with the kind of friendship I have with my small group of close friends.

How the story comes together: So when I'm writing the scenes I put down what is in my head first, but what you see isn't the first of what I wrote down. Some things change a lot some change a little. I write and print a lot on paper and write some more and print some more. I usually have to read out loud each scene, changing things when I need to. What I do as I'm reading is putting myself in each characters shoes. I bring the character into my mind and channel what it is that i would say and do in the situation the character is in. I kind of close of my mind to everything around me and bring up a picture of where the scene is and what would be around and whatnot and make myself the character. ind of blocking out everything and freeing your mind to let something else in.
I would recommend this for anyone who want to write fiction. Write what is there first then go back later to read it out loud. Clear your mind and let everything your thinking go. Pull the characters into your mind and just let what you would say in the same situation come out. Even if you have to do it a few times to get it just right. If you have to find someone who 1. is a supporter of what you are doing and 2. willing to help you any time anywhere with this. I have that. I might have to email her bits and pieces, but I love that I have that kind of person in my life.

I hope this helps you understand a little bit about how everything came together. I know every author has their methods. Everyone new one searches for a way to figure it out, but you can't allow what someone else does to get their story written reflect how you write. If you choose to do things the way I do with publishing or have professionals do it all for you, besides the writing portion, then make sure you can trust the people you have helping you.
I have my closest, long time friend edit things. I know I can trust her with any copy I email her or print off for her. You have to be able to trust the people that handle your work outside of you.

Now that you have an insight into my mind I can say I hope you enjoy where I have taken this story.

If you have not read on any of the other posts then I must say this story is not a personal experience. I have not lost my parents. They are both alive and well, living about twenty minutes away from where I do. I have never been really depressed, but a few things have sent me to spiral down just a little bit, but not far enough that I couldn't get back out.

Thank you for reading. You can get The Dark of Night on Amazon in both paperback and kindle. Today October 24, 2013 is the last day to get the paperback version for $6.75. It will be back up to $7.50 at end of day today. I hope to have the next part of Emilie's story for you in before or by Spring.

Kindle Available

You can get The Dark of Night on the kindle. It is available for $2.99 USD to download. All you have to do is click on the title throughout this post to get to the page on amazon.com to download your copy of The Dark of Night.

Either at the end of this week or beginning of next week you will be able to get a paperback copy of The Dark of Night on amazon.com. You will be able to purchase that at $7.50 USD. With a purchase of a paperback copy of The Dark of Night you should be have the option to download the kindle version for free.

I will warn you that when I uploaded everything for the kindle version, since my pdf file was not compatible, it uploaded weird. On the kindle fire device there won't be indents to the paragraphs, where as the other device; paper white, kindle, iphone, ipad, all have indents and chapters on all devices start right at the end of the chapter before; meaning same page for most. I have kinks to work out,  but really it isn't about the format it is about what the words tell you.

I am hoping that it will show that there is someone out there willing to listen when you have problems you may not want to share with the people closest to you. That no matter what problems you are trying to deal with, someone out there will know how to help or just listen when you need someone to talk to.

I have not had a personal experience with depression, but I know plenty of people who have. Both my parents are alive and well, but I have known a few people who were killed in accidents. I know of one relative from when I was maybe age 10 to age 12 and my cousin was 15 and he was killed in a car accident. There have been some of my classmates, since we have graduated high school 11 years ago that were killed in car accidents. My younger brother lost his closest friend in a car accident after a party.

As for the therapy, I have never done that either, but there is one person in my family that has been there due to personal reason. Not exactly what this character goes through, but going to counseling, therapy, or seeing a psychologist are all forms of help that anyone can go to for whatever reasons.

I hope you take the time to read the book and enjoy it as much as I loved writing it.  I am working on the second part of her story. Keep an eye out for The Fire of Night. Be sure to follow to keep up-to-date with news on books and other things. Questions and comment are welcome and appreciated.

Thank you!

Getting closer!

Got confirmation that my format is good for publishing. I have order the proof copy so I can make sure it is perfect or very close to it. After that it should be ready to purchase on Amazon. I might make it available for Kindle, but it may not be right away.

It will be available to purchase at $8.50 in US dollars. Don't worry you will know as soon as it is ready to be purchased. I will be looking into Kindle version and figure out how much that will cost not only you but myself once I get everything else done.

Official!

To all my lovely readers, I have some good news.

I can officially say that the book will soon be ready for purchase. I don't know for sure the exact date it will be ready, but soon. I submitted it tonight, technically yesterday since it is now the 5th and no longer the 4th. I am hoping it prints right since when I tried to look at the thing it had big gaps in the middle of chapter and beginning of chapters on the same page as the ending of the previous chapter. We will see once it is ready for me to review it and order the copy I need to for checking the printing and whatnot in it.

I can tell you the paperback copy of it will be $8.50 in US dollars. This is the price I set only because it was what equaled out for US dollars, Eruos, and GBP. I tried lower just for all my lovely American readers, but to deal with list prices for other countries I had to do what I needed to get this to other parts of the world than just my home country.

I hope I can let you know soon the date it will be available for purchase. It should be before Thanksgiving. Good thing for a young adult in life, I'm saying about age 14 or 15 up, for a Christmas gift or whatever religious holiday you celebrate.

More good news to come soon so be sure to follow to be the first to know about any news that you want to know. I'm on Twitter @author_jrtyger or follow me on Facebook J. R. Tyger.

Thank you!

Update: On the first book

So I have been a little busy with my son's soccer practices and games, but I do have some good news. I'm almost finish with Dark of Night. I have only one more chapter that is being edited. Once that is down it should be ready to be published!

I hope I will have it done soon. Just waiting on my favorite person, who is editing everything for me, to send it back. I had added a chapter just after I gave her everything I had finished to start, I had feeling that something just wasn't right.

After a few days of thinking and mentioning it to my friend/editor, we concluded it was definitely missing something. Well, i figured out what that something was so now that is just waiting to be edited and sent back.

I have also started the second part of the character's story. Emilie has a different perspective this time around. She is going from depressed to angry. I have to say I am at a mind block, writer's block to the lay person, on the 3rd chapter, but I will figure it out.

I getting excited to share this story that has been eating away at me for so long. I promise I will keep racking in the brain to get what is itching to get out. Maybe it isn't that I have a mind block, maybe it is that I just can't find the right words. I will find both.

Thank you!

An addition

A few days after I finished the last chapter of the book, it felt as if something was missing. I gave a hard copy of the book for my friend and the person I trust to edit my work. She was almost through and I asked her about it. She agreed it felt as if something was missing. I think I finally got it. I just finished that part up and sent a emailed copy to her. I am waiting to get the hard copy back, which will be this weekend, so I can correct any mistakes.

I have already uploaded the cover to the book. I hope everyone likes it. I know as soon as I seen the picture I was in love. even more so once I added the title to it. I also have the covers ready for the other 2 books. Hopefully soon I will have it ready to go to be submitted. Fingers crossed I have it ready for everyone by Thanksgiving. Awesome Christmas gift or whatever holiday you celebrate.

Remember to keep up with posts you must follow whichever way you would like. If you have a question or comment leave it in the comment area. Want to ask something, but wish to not have the whole world see it? Feel free to send me a personal message.

Thank you!

For the American readers mainly

Today 12 years ago we have a tragedy in this country caused by terrorists. People who think our country is bad, when really it seems our leaders want to help other countries before it helps its own people. 12 years ago today I was a senior in high school. When the 1st tower was hit I was sitting in my first period English class. When the second tower was hit I was getting ready to leave that first period class and go to the next one. While sitting in my American History class is when we were informed of what had happened.

I did not know anyone personally that was in any of the crashes, I did live about three and half hours away from New York City. It is also two and half hours to the spot of the crash  that happened in a field of one of the other flights.

So today I'm going to remember my fellow Americans that lost their lives 12 years ago today. I am going to remember our heroes that fought to save the lives of those stuck in the buildings and lost their lives. I will remember those who did get out alive. I will remember our soldiers that fight every day to keep our freedom, even though it seems sometimes the government is going against what our forefathers wanted for this country.

I hope all of my fellow Americans remember what happened on this day 12 years ago. It was an awful day for our country, but it brought us together as a country.

Why it takes a tragedy to do so most of the time, I don't know. Be joyful that we still have a lovely country for the most part to live in.

I remember!

Thank you!

Another getting to know me questions.

So, I have been trying to find stuff so I can tell you more about myself without sounding like I'm going to go on forever about a topic. I got these ones from Oprah's website that I found googling things.

  • Who was your favorite celebrity as a child?   Which one to choose? I was a huge Heath Ledger fan. I miss him him every day since he died. I fell in love when I seen "10 Things I Hate About You" along with liking Julia Stiles. Those are my fav actors as a teen.
  • What type of pets do you have? I have a dog who is part chocolate lab and Australian Shepard. Her name is Snickers and she is 9 in human years. I also have a black cat with some white patches on her chest and belly. Her name is Fuzzy Bear and she is 5 in human years. She was born only a week or 2 before my oldest child.
  • What is your favorite color? Purple.
  • What is most memorable about your high school years? I don't think there is one. I loved everything about high school. I wasn't a social butterfly, but the popular people did talk to me. I mainly hung out with my friends. That may be the most memorable from then. Hanging with Friends.
  • What word describes you best?
  • What is your greatest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment to this day is my children. I love them more than anything.
  • What drives you every day? My children are what give me the drive to get up every morning and do the things I do.
  • What is your favorite food? I have to have a favorite? Pizza or chicken
  • Where do you want to retire? Somewhere warm like Florida or Cali.
  • What is your business goal this year? Well, since i have 2 home based businesses besides writing, I want to make at least $100, I know a low goal, but I don't push my stuff too hard I guess you could say. I also want to have my first book ready to be sold by Thanksgiving and i would like to have the 2nd book finished or almost finished by Valentine's day of 2014.
  • Where do you like to vacation? I would really like to go out west to Cali, actually I would rather live there, I want to go to the Ellen show. If not there than I want to go back to the place my friends and I use to go on vacation before we had kids. Atlantic Beach, NC.
  • Who do you admire? My mom. She has always been there for me even when I didn't think she was.
  • What is your mission? I like to help anyone I can if I can.
  • If you were invisible, where would you go? Away from here with my laptop and paper and something to write with and write until I have nothing left to write.
  • What traits in others are you attracted to? Treat people nice, anyone who can handle my temp when it gets away from me. Anyone who is wants respect and doesn't hide any side, that shows their true self.
  • What is the kindest thing anyone has done for you? My in-laws loaned us money to purchase the place we live in for the time being so we weren't paying mega bucks for rent where we living previous.
  • How do you want to be remembered? I want to be remember for someone that followed her dreams even after she had kids. Also to my children I would like to be remembered as a mom who helped them follow their dreams to best of my abilities.
  • What would you do with a million dollars? First and foremost I would pay off any debts owed to anyone, that should be anyone's thing to do with it, then I would buy a house that would better accommodate our family, it doesn't have to be the best or expensive, then I would give the rest to charities. I am big on anything cancer related, or children based charities of any kind.
  • If you were on an island, who would you want to be with? Why? This one is really hard. I should be saying my husband and/or kids, but really I would rather be on an island with Robert Pattinson. He is so dreamy and I love his accent. That may be because my family is originally from England as well. There would be another one, but unfortunately, I'm too old for him by 12 years.
  • You have a 10 minute speech to give at a high school, what is it about? Either about bullying, drug and alcohol, or following dreams.

That is the site you can get the questions from if you want them for yourself.  I could say I am just a simple girl, but someone who can go on about a subject for hours and switch and go back isn't a simple person. It could also be that I only have a 5 year old and a 2 year old to talk to most days. I hope everyone like getting to know me. I also hope you will like what I have written for the world to read. I hope to have it ready soon!

Editing begins

Okay, so I have been editing my own work, and have ask a very close friend of mine to help edit my work bringing fresh eyes to it.

Normally, there are paid editors that work for publishers and whatnot, but since I'm not going the traditional route at this point in time, I needed to find someone to do it for me.

I could pay someone a lot of money I don't have, but why do that when you know someone willing to help you because they are like family and don't care about a thing like money.

We have been friends since right before we entered the 7th grade. We were inseparable for so long. We share the same first and middle name and use to share the same initial for our last names. Now we raise our children together even though we don't live close enough to spend more time together.

Anyway, I have her editing as of tomorrow when I give her a hard copy of the book instead of sending it through email like I have been. Now she will have it in her hands and be able to read any time instead of when she can get time sit in front of the computer.

I don't think she knows what she has gotten herself into. I don't have a way to print front and back of pages. Wish I did. So she gets 200 pages of only front pages.

Here is a picture of what she gets.

She will be reading all of that. Editing as she goes. Giving input on it. She will be doing that as of tomorrow.

She will as doing my photo for Facebook page. What an awesome small group of friends have. I'm glad that we would do anything for each other.

My two very close friends are like the sisters I should have had. I don't have any except for the ones that I got when I married my husband. That includes the spouses married to his brothers along with his little sister.

I just wanted to share this with you. Not everyone can say they have friends like this, but I'm glad I do.

Thank you for reading. Questions, comments, or whatever can be left in the comment box or send me a person message and I will answer it. Never to busy for fans.

Thank you!

Learn more about me.

Okay, so I already have a getting to to me page on here that I did when I first started this. I decided that I could try and tell you all kinds of things about myself, but might not hit things people might ask me about to get to know me. So I googled to see if I could find one of those 25 questions or however many questions like use to to be on Myspace, which I once had and don't really use anymore. So here are some of the questions I found and answered just for you.

1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
Not that I have been told. I have asked, but not confirmed. That is my first name anyway. My middle name comes from a family friend, that is what i have been told and I have a relative that believes I got my middle name from her middle name. I will leave it at that.

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
I would have to say a few nights ago. I won't go into anything as to why it would be TMI!

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?
Not really. i have sloppy handwriting for a girl.

4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?
Depends. I can't eat lunch meat that is turkey and won't really touch anything, but ham or chicken.

5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
I have 2. One boy, one girl. Maybe in a few years we will decide to have another one to complete our family.

6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON, WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
Most likely.

7. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT?
Depends on who I'm talking to. If it is my husband or people who know the real me and know when I'm using and when I'm not then yes, if it isn't either of those then no.

8. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS?
Yes, but I have to talk to my doctor. Not sure if they have anything to do with the fact that I lose my voice or start to lose it so often as of late.

9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?
Possibly. I might, but on the other hand possibly not. I have done those free falls at the amusement parks. I believe Cedar Point maybe another one and it was not the greatest experience for me, why I haven't a clue since I love roller coasters.

10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?
Anything with chocolate really, but not with flakes.

11. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?
Sometimes. Guess it depends on how quickly I want them off. I also hate shoes. I would rather go bare foot, but hate walking on stones in bare feet so flip flops or sandals are what I like best.

12. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG?
Not at all.

13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
Anything with chocolate ice cream really. Not all at once, but you know what I mean.

14. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?
I would think my face, but that's what I think. I haven't really got a clue what people notice first about me.

15. RED OR PINK?
Neither, I like purple

16. WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?
My baby belly as mom's refer to the belly some of us have and can't seem to get rid of after having kids.

17. WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST?
My best friends when we aren't able to hang out together. One is in school trying to get her degree and one live a half hour away and we don't get to see each other as much as we would like.

18. WHAT COLOR SHOES ARE YOU WEARING?
Bare feet. Like i said I hate shoes. If I had on my sneakers they would be black, pink and neon yellow.

19. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?
Burger King - What use to be known as a Tender Crisp chicken sandwich years ago when it first came out and I worked there.

20. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?
Silence in my house.

21. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE?
Purple, it's only my favorite color.

22. FAVORITE SMELLS?
Vanilla or fruity, and certain flower smells.

23. WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE?
My dad.

24. MOUNTAIN HIDEAWAY OR BEACH HOUSE?
Beach house, i love the beach and hope to live near one someday.

25. FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH?
Don't really care for any really, but if I have to choose; professional it would be football (American), and not pro it would be my son's soccer team.

26. HAIR COLOR?
At the moment it is a golden brown color. Light golden brown, I think. Whatever color my husband picked out for me to go. I always keep it in the brown/auburn color family. It just changes shade every so often. Not that my hair would do so on its own anyway. It the summer it is lightens up and gets really dark red tints to it, and in the winter it darkens to a real dark shade of brown that could almost pass for black.

27. EYE COLOR?
Hazel for the most part. It also depends on what I'm wearing if they happen to be either green or blue.

28. DO YOU WEAR CONTACTS?
Every so often when my eyes are being irritated by allergies. I have allergies to my dog and certain pollens and if I forget to take my allergy meds it can be bad for my eyes with the itchiness.

29. FAVORITE FOOD?
This one is hard. I like a lot of different foods. I also find new things i like everyday. I use to be a picky eater, but I have started trying new things and find I like some things I have turned my nose up at before.

30. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?
Happy endings of course. I'm a big romance fan, so a lot of people may wonder why I don't write in the genre. The answer to that would be I have tried, but I can't seem to get the romance scenes the right way. Maybe that doesn't sound right to you, but what i have in my mind about the characters I started to write about didn't come out right on paper. If you understand what i mean.

31. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED?
Well, if we say off the t.v. it would be Teen Beach Movie off the Disney channel. I have a 5 year-old that loves the show Austin & Ally and is a big fan of Ross Lynch's band R5, so we had to watch it. As for other movies, not sure. The last movie I watched was from the Redbox and I can't remember what it was, so it obviously wasn't all that good.

32. WHAT COLOR SHIRT ARE YOU WEARING?
Black

33. SUMMER OR WINTER?
I guess summer. I was a summer kind of girl born in the part of the country that gets too cold for me in the winter. I need to be in a place like SoCal or Fl.

34. HUGS OR KISSES?
Depends on my mood.

35. FAVORITE DESSERT?
almost anything that has either chocolate or peanut butter or both in it.

36. STRENGTH TRAINING OR CARDIO?
Cardio. I feel weak if I go near anything that is strength training.

37. COMPUTER OR TELEVISION?
Depends on my mood. If there is something that is keeping my interest I will ignore the computer if not then it is all about the computer when it isn't about my kids.

38. WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING NOW?
Rereading 50 Shades of Grey and just bought a new Nora Roberts book to read.

39. WHAT IS ON YOUR MOUSE PAD?
Clouds

40. FAVORITE SOUND?
The sound of my kids. I miss them when they go stay at their grandparents

41. ROLLING STONES OR BEATLES?
Beatles, if we really have to get into early rock 'n' roll then it is Elvis all the way.

42. WHAT IS THE FARTHEST YOU HAVE BEEN FROM HOME?
Florida was there when I was in the 9th grade for our outdoor marching band, I was in the color guard as they were referred to then. If you don't know what that is then they are the ones that twirl flags in show giving color to the music being played.

43. DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL TALENT?
I don't believe I have a special talent, but i would hope it is to bring readers a good story line and keep them interested most if not all the book.

44. WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
Jersey Shore, PA. Not that same as The Jersey Shore in NJ.

45. WHERE ARE YOU LIVING NOW?
I 15 minutes south and kind of west of my birth town, and about 30 to 45 minutes from the home of the Nittany Lions at PSU. I was also raised for the first 6 years in the town I live in now.

46. WHAT COLOR IS YOUR HOUSE?
White with brown trim.

47. WHAT COLOR IS YOUR CAR?
Depends on which vehicle is working. Our family has 3 clunkers. I have a Black Ford Focus, don't judge me about my Fords, and I have a reddish maroon color dodge caravan, that I got after my husband totaled my first Ford Focus. My husband drives a crappy rundown 80s model Toyota pick-up. He is so in need of a new truck, just like I would love to buy a new car and get rid of the two I already drive.

48. DO YOU LIKE ANSWERING 48 QUESTIONS?
Sometimes. If I'm answering them then I'm in the mood to share information about myself. I will find different ones later, as it is bedtime in my time zone and 6:30 a.m. comes mighty early.

Second book in the works

As most know I have finally finished the first of my books. I have my "editor," who also happens to be a friend of mine reading over things and to make sure it sounds alright. I believe I have found my cover. Still deciding on that as well.
What most don't know is that this will be a trilogy. There will be three books with it starting with The Dark of Night. The second one is just staring. It has a title that I will not be releasing just yet.  I will let you know when it will be announced. I will also let those of you who wish to purchase The Dark of Night when it is released. Just so you know it is already in the publishing process. I have started all of that. It has an ISBN number already. I am also hoping to make it available for as many countries as possible.
I wish is for it to be a book someone can turn to in the time of heartache and know that they aren't the only ones out there that hurt on the inside, but can't or won't show it on the outside.

I want to thank those who take the time to read about my boring life. Well, to you it may sound boring, but my life seems crazy. 2 kids, a husband, a dog and a cat, every function we have to attend or every sport played where travel for practice or games. It may not seem like much, but add cleaning, picking up from the bus stop after school, cooking dinner, making sure little one who is home all day is fed throughout the day, and trying to write when you have just a few minutes of free time before getting some sleep so you can get up and do it all over again. It is a lot on anyone's plate. All that should call for a drink at the end of the day. Wish I had something around the house I would drink to do so.
Oh well, I have to get back to work so you all have something to read. And so it doesn't take me 1 or 2 years to finish the second or third book.

Thank you for reading. Leave any questions or comments and I will definitely read them and answer any questions. Don't want the whole world to see what you have to ask or have to say. Send me an email. Be sure to follow this to keep up-to-date with anything about the books.

Thank you!

Getting further along

Looking at the two different places I was deciding on self-publishing with I have come to the conclusion on which one I will use. It all came down to manufacturing pricing. The more it costs to manufacture the more it will cost for you buyers to purchase. I don't want it to cost so much that everyone will be discouraged to buy it. I am also hoping that I will be able to have it submitted in both paperback and ebook versions.

I can say that I have it almost ready to be published. Just waiting to be able to make the cover for the book. As well as waiting to see if the ones I asked to help edit it can give me any feedback. We are suppose to be working on the photo for the cover next weekend. I hope I can get what I want.

I have set up my Facebook page so you can find me through the search bar J. R. Tyger. Be sure to go like the page. I'm on Twitter too @tyegrmama08.

Keeping it together

For our area it is the first day of school. I am trying to control my emotions of my oldest going off for his first day of kindergarten. It is crazy how fast the kids grow up. He is my crazy little man. He wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up. In fact he has wanted to be that since he was 2. I was so amazed that my 2 year-old could say that big word. Now 3 years later I just sent him off to his first school. Well, I sent him off at 7:30 this morning, but I am now just getting time to get on here.

I can say not even taking him to the pre-k program he was in last year helped me prepare for today. My house is quiet without him here. My kids aren't fighting of whatever toy or spot they want. The only one really making noise is my husband.

There is my oldest pride and joy on his way to school. I am grateful to have him in my life every day. He is one of the reasons I want to be successful with what i have written to share with everyone. I hope you all like it as much as I do once I'm finished editing and get it published.

Normally I wouldn't share pictures of my kids, but this is a special day for me. My emotion are running in overdrive that he is gone. Plus, I there are thousands of parents out there that either did, are today, or will be next week, sending their babies off to their first day of school whether it would be their first of kindergarten or whatever grade.

So all the fellow parents out there sending you babies off to first day of school, good luck with your emotions today. I know I'm not having a good time with mine. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

Thanks you!!!

Excited to announce ...

I am excited to announce that I finally finished writing my first book. It may not be my first one I have actually completed, but it is the first one I am completely satisfied with. I obviously have a lot of editing to do. It might be a few weeks until I'm completely ready to decide what I want to do with it. I know I want it published, and be out there for anyone who wants to read it. I just don't know if I want to self-publish and get it out there faster, or start sending it to Lit agents and find someone out there that will do all the other work for me so I can concentrate on the next chapter in the Jessie Ramsey's life.

I have plenty to decide and plenty of time to decide. I have already created accounts with 2 different self-publishing sites. If I decide on going that way I have to decide which one to use. There is also the cover for each book. I have to figure out how I am going to accomplish it. I know what I want, just not how to go about doing it.

As much as i would like to say I would be submitting it within the week to be approved and published for everyone to purchase and enjoy, I can't say that just yet. I have plenty to get done yet. Between editing, figuring out how to get the cover I really want, and figure out which way to publish, i have a lot to do as well as work on the next book in her journey.

I will keep you updated on the progress on The Dark of Night as it is edited and how I go about deciding how to get it from just being on my computer to publishing.I can officially say I that i can keep up updated on the second book. So watch for post on The Fire of Night as well.

I will warn you now I don't know how much I will get done with any of the stuff this week. For the school district we live in it is starting school and it is my son's very first day. Also, it is the start of AYSO Fall soccer season and my son is also into that. I know we start this week, just don't exactly what day. My daughter also has her play groups for her home based preschool to go to.

While I live my crazy busy life, I will also be editing, writing and thinking. I will keep you posted

Thank you for reading and to keep posted with each new post remember to follow my blog. Have any questions, comment and just have something to say leave it in the comment box or want to keep it personal just use the contact form.

Thank you!!!

I can't believe it!

I sat down to write some more today and realized that I am almost finished with the first part of the story of my character. After thinking about it for a few minutes I came to the conclusion that I have to edit some things at the beginning and even though it shows I am on chapter 14 right at this moment it will end up being more than that anyway.

The fact is that the first part of story is about to end, and it did so without me realizing it. Not to worry her journey isn't over yet. I have to keep telling myself that. I have fallen in love with my own character, even if she is a female. I think all author love the characters they create, but this one she has been a favorite for as long as I could remember. always pushing to get out, but for a long time I pushed her down. For a long time I didn't want to let her out.

I started reading this book that somehow made its way into my possession when we moved into our own place called Getting Published For Dummy's, of all the books, that lead me to wanting to write after close to 10 years after putting it everything into the back of my mind. That is the kind of thing that can happen if you don't have the support and appraisal that you hope for when you are only 17 or 18.

That is why I took one year off school between high school and college and then went back. That is why even though I love children, and working with them, it just wasn't my passion. That is why I quit school after 2 semesters of school. Could be one of the reasons that any job I worked never made me happy. Why I can't seem to be too excited when I go for interviews to go back to work 5 years after having my first baby and 2 years after my second baby.

Now, that I finally let my character tell her story, I feel free, well, sort of since she isn't done telling her story yet. I can't wait to the next part of the journey with her on the road she is walking down. I can only hope that people like her as much as I do.

I think I'm overly happy that I will be done writing it long before I had planned. We still have a few months until Thanksgiving and maybe that means it can all be available before then and it would make a wonderful Christmas present. Fingers crossed.

I know now i have to figure out how to get the cover I really want for this book. I don't have a good photoshop program to get what it is I'm looking for. I will have to figure it all out. I will let everyone know when it is available to purchase, and where you can purchase it.

I want to thank all of you for reading and keeping up-to-date with progress and my rambling. Life may be crazy at this moment with school starting and finally hearing from my son's soccer coach and we should be starting that next week as well.

So once again I thank you for reading. Remember if you haven't done so already follow the blog to keep better updated on everything. If you have any questions, comments or whatever leave them in the comment box or feel free to email me if you don't want the world to know whatever is on your mind.

Thank you!!

Crazy writing

I have been writing like mad these last couple of weeks. I can officially say I am past halfway of being done with the first part of my characters story. I am pretty happy with it so far. I feel pretty good about hitting my goal of having it finish by Thanksgiving, and maybe edited by Christmas. Soon after I hope to have it ready for everyone to purchase.

I think my plan for now is to self-publish it and hope that maybe some day it can be published through a big name publisher. Right now I'm trying to get through the last few chapters for this book and figure out how to accomplish the cover for my book that I want.

Maybe once I'm done with my book and have everything edited and ready to go, maybe, just maybe I will give you all an exert out of it. I plan on trying to get it to e-book and hopefully available for the kindle and any other type of e-reader out there.

Other than crazy writing getting done, I have been spending as much time with both of kids. My oldest goes off to kindergarten on Wednesday! He is so excited. I'm excited, but sad. We went to a close amusement park yesterday and spent the day with my parents chasing after the kids as they rode rides all day and watch a band that was there to play. Well, we kind of watch them twice. I wanted to watch them for their final show of the night, but it got cancelled due to a thunderstorm.

As always I want to that you for taking the time to live my life with me. I hope to eventually give you something I'm very proud of. I have been work forever on this, or so it seems. I want to get this out there, only because I have looked constantly, like I did today while I finished school shopping, for a Young Adult or Teen book about dealing with really tough situations, like death for one. As hard as it is for an adult to deal with things like death or other difficult situation it can be even harder for teens even young kids to deal with.

I want them to have a story that maybe they can kind of relate to if not completely relate to, like going through something difficult even if it isn't death. I also will have ways to get help when it is really and truly needed.

Thank you so much for keeping up-to-date. If you haven't done so and don't want to wait to see an update on Twitter in one of my tweets, then be sure to subscribe to get updates. Remember if you like what you read and know someone who would like this as well then feel free to share with whoever you would like! Thank you once again!

My 30 day challenge

So normally I don't like challenges, but I have come across the 30 challenge for squats. For those who don't know it is a workout. Because I always feel weird doing squats I have decided to turn the 30 Day Squat Challenge into a 30 Day Curl-up Challenge. I have been wanting to lose weight since having my first child. When my son was 2 I started to lose some of the baby weight from having him. I lost 13 lbs, almost before I got pregnant with the youngest. Now I'm working on losing the belly along with writing my book and reading other works. Not something that's easy even if you eat healthy food.
I have noticed anyone, well anyone I know that is, that decides to take a supplement to help them lose weight forgets that you no matter how long you take them if you don't eat healthy and exercise you won't lose much weight. It makes me want to throw something at their heads when I ask what they are doing to help them lose weight and they say they are using some green tea extract or whatever, but not doing anything else. I see what they are eating, but they insist that it doesn't matter the stuff helps them lose a lot of weight.
I don't buy it. I believe in working hard for something. If you want to get something done then you need to work hard to accomplish it, whether it be losing weight or working on a project.

For my hard work I'm going to do the same thing they do with the 30 Day squat Challenge but with curl-ups or sit-ups. I'm using that for my guide to hopefully lose the baby belly. It has been 2 years since I had my baby girl, and I have tried other things, but haven't really stuck with. I have done measurements on my ab region so I think on day 15 I will measure again and see if I have tightened up the ab muscles any. That's all I really want. I wouldn't mind dropping a few pant sizes either. I only really need to lose 20lbs to be where I should be for a good weight for my height and age.

If anyone is up for the challenge with me leave me a comment. Let me know how you progress through it. I will keep you up-to-date with my progress with this small journey, plus my progress with the book. It is nearing the end of August which means I only have a September, October, and most of November to get it done if I want to reach my goal of having it done. That is why I have been working like mad to getting work done on it. That is another story.

Don't forget if you want to take this challenge with me let me know when you start and how you progress. Have a lovely day readers! Don't forget to follow the blog to keep up-to-date with everything posted.

Checking out a self-publishing site.

So I was at a birthday party for my son's friend from his Pre-k program he was in last year. One of the other mom's knows an author who self-publishes with two different sites. If you would like to get published, and want to do the work yourself and not pay anyone then check out Createspace and Lulu to get started

Here is a picture of what I have been working. I have been playing around with one of the templates I downloaded from Lulu. It is so fun to be able to make any and all decisions regarding my own work. Now it will be the part on how to make the cover that i have dreamed about since I started writing this. i know what I want, just have to figure out how to accomplish it when I go to publish!

I am very excited to be able to share this with every out there. I will be glad when this one is finished and i start on the next one for you. I am working very hard to get it done!!! Look out "The Dark of Night" will be coming soon! Good luck to those who wish to join this profession. Good luck with you ventures in creating your work and getting everything you need to say out!

Craziness

Okay, so as you can see I post sporadically. Mainly, I post when I feel there might be something important for you readers to read. Tonight though, I feel like I just have to get out there how crazy life feels. I am big on family. I love my little family, plus all the rest, even if I don't like them sometimes.

Of course as I type this out I get distracted by music. Oh, music you second love to my writing. Anything, all music is awesome. For writing though, I have to sit down and play with the stations on http://www.pandora.com/ to find the the right mood of music. Mostly for what I'm working at the moment it requires desperate, depressing music, so I turn to Coldplay station. Except for today. I got around about 2,000 words done from Today's hits station. It might have been more if I hadn't had to chase after my two lovely children or my pain in the behind dog. I can say taking it all outside and just sitting there helped a lot.

So if you are aspiring writer and need something to help, try music. Whether it be using your iPod, mp3 player, or something from the internet. It crazy how songs can inspire the mood of your characters and the mood of the scene.

Think we have anything in common? I like to read, like a lot. I read mostly romance. Lots of Nora Roberts, and such. Recently, I have come to love erotic romance, never thought I would, but low-and-behold I do. Authors like E. L. James, Sylvia Day, to name some. Okay, so they are the only one so far that I read. I also dig a little into young adult, which is how I kind of gotten started in it. I also like some tween works as well. I was really big on The Babysitter Club Books. I have read most. In fact I was only two-years-old at the time the first book was released. Of course I was in middle school before I actually read them, curtsy of one of my friends who had most of the collection. Thanks to her I now look for them when I'm out at used stores and pick them up, they are for my daughter to read when she is old enough, and hey, I still would read them too. I haven't read them all yet.

Apart from reading I have a love for music. I, at one point wanted to go into that profession, but after a while it was no longer a goal for me. I can't say that in this point in my life I have a favorite singer/band, but I do like anywhere from soloist like Bruno Mars to bands like Imagine Dragons, also I venture into Country music and a little Blues. Give me some 50s and 60s music any day and I would be happy. I'm a big Elvis fan. So much so that I did my senior project on him. We didn't do community project at our school, at least not when I was there, for that project for us to graduate.

I can't say I am a foodie. Actually, up until a few years ago, I only ate things I knew I already liked. Now I would be willing to try almost anything. Other than that, I like pizza, I love Pizza Hut, mainly I love anything that I don't have to cook, Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury at the moment to eat out that much. Once in a while we get to, but then it is places like Pizza Hut, Burger King, or KFC. Ewwww! To McDonald's, sorry but I can't say I like that place. I can't stand it. I only stop there once in a while for the sake of my son, who loves the place.

Well, I think that is good as any for you to know my crazy life a little more. If you want to stay up-to-date when I post feel free to follow me by email or whichever. Share with your friends as well. I hope everyone out there is making their dreams come true. Remember always work hard and you can accomplish the things you want. Also, enjoy life!

A little ranting tonight.

With this headache/migraine that I have tonight, I don't think I will accomplish much. I'm just glad to be back on to where I want to be. Of everything I have read, it isn't just new writers that goes through this. Even famous author apparently go through this. I guess as of right now I'm glad I'm not famous or on a deadline which most author have once they have contracts to write books.

Right now I'm a little bit focused on getting my son to his first day of kindergarten and dealing with soccer, which hopefully starts next week for practices anyway. I have also been dealing with seasonal allergies and asthma attacks that come along with those allergies.

I think tonight I will head to bed an hour earlier than I normally do. Have to be up early so hubby can go to bed by 9 a.m. if he doesn't sleep tonight that is, so he gets enough sleep for work tomorrow night. Hate that the hubby works rotating shifts and every month it changes. One month he works nights, that's this month and next month he will go back to days for a month. Crappy schedule, plus he also is working every Saturday he has off this month. He does it all to support his family.

I have to say that it was awful when he got laid off in June with the rest of the company, which including at least 3 plants in our area, 2 close by not even 5 minutes away from our home, and the other was maybe a good hour away. All this without warning. The plant my husband worked at had maybe an hour to get their personal belongs and had to get out. My husband had called in sick that day. They it has been 2 months and none have yet to receive their last pay.
Luckily, though, my husband was back to work within three weeks of all this happening. A good job with good benefits, but crappy hours. We barely get to see him.

I guess I should be glad we have some sort of income in our household. I know there are families out there without incomes. I don't believe I know any of them personally, at least not to my knowledge. Some of them I can't be sorry for. Some of those people out there without income comes down to being their own fault. Yes, the economy is bad. No, there isn't many jobs out there. But can they say that they really have tried? All will say yes, most in reality probably haven't. Those are the ones that want to make mega bucks for doing nothing.
I'm sorry, but if you can get even a part time job working fast food that makes minimum wage, then hey it is an income. I wish financially, it would be best for me to go back to work. I would love nothing more than just to get out of the house and be around adults without my 2 little loves under foot, but for our family it isn't in the cards.
That is why I write. I have loved to write since I was a young teen. I started about age 13 or 14. I never knew anything really about getting published before. I didn't have access at home to the internet. I come from a mid-income family. I now live as a mid-income family. I wanted to go to college. I did so for 1 year. In the major I was able to work as a classroom assistant without having a degree, but when I couldn't get hired for a position in the field I figured it wouldn't be the right field for me.
I tried doing an online school while planning my wedding to become a bridal consultant, I was 23 at the time, when I couldn't afford to pay for that anymore, I stopped. I really want to try again, but now with 2 kids and only one income it makes it hard to afford it. Especially, when you are sitting on 3 cars that breaks down so often.
Right now I run a mini van. I hate the thing with a passion. My husband picked out after he wrecked our only vehicle at the time. We found out a few weeks after the purchase that it had problems and the check engine light had electrical tape over and you couldn't see it in the daylight. After that my husband has been through 3 trucks now. He bought one and just before that one died he traded that and a few hundred bucks for another truck, newer than his was at the time, but in crappier shape. He had also taken over his friends truck and was fixing that as well. When he couldn't get that to stay running he just gave it away.
The third vehicle is my beloved car. I love my Ford Focus, but when we bought it it had problems. I wasn't listened to when I said something wasn't right and low-and-behold it died on me while I had both kids with me along the highway.
Luck for me I'm a daddy's girl, and my daddy does a lot for me when he can. He is also a pretty good DIY mechanic, he use to repair tracker trailer trucks when I was little.

Everyone thinks writers come from a money background, but let me just say. I love to write. Whether or not I ever get published by a big time publishing company or I have to find a way to come up with the money to self-publish on amazon.com or where ever, if I even get to do that. It doesn't matter. I write for myself. I don't write for you, the reader. I can only hope that you love, like at the very least, what I have to say and what I put out for the world to see.
Do I want to have tons of money? Yeah, who wouldn't. It would mean our household be financially stable for a change. That I know my kids are getting everything they need. Who cares about wants. I would know my children would  have money for college. (My son has an expensive goal of becoming a paleontologist. My daughter hasn't decided like my son did. Yet.)

I am also a person who would love to give to all kinds of different charities, but I don't have the extra money most of the time. Expenses come first and play and helping others come last. Charities is one of the main reasons I want to get out there, get published and sell. Yes, I want to pay bills. Yes, I would like to purchase a house that better fits our family than the place we own at the moment. Yes, I would like for my husband and I to purchase good vehicles so we aren't wasting money fixing our vehicles with every single paycheck. Yes, I want to put money into both my kids savings account and start a retirement account my us. I would also like to give more to charities that mean a lot to me.

In case your wondering what kind of charities I would support; those are just about any cancer charity, I have been touched by cancer of different kinds, not myself, but through my family, I support anything with children, I had a friend effected by domestic abuse, so I would definitely support them, I am all for equal rights for everyone, and anything to do with education. I also try to be environmentally aware. I am also a supporter for our troops.

I hope this gives you a better insight to who I am. I try and be truthful about everything. Sometimes I can be too truthful. I am in no way religious in any of the norm religions. I am not a religious activist. I will not hone my religion on you, so please don't push yours on me. I am who I am, and that's the way I will be.

Thank you for reading, and good night readers!

A whole new view

So last night after thinking I was blocked, and everything start to not make sense I stop everything. I did a little research. Trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Where everything was getting jumbled at. After I was lost with researching I decided to try and go to bed.

Well, I tried to sleep I should say. That didn't help. My mind was going a mile a minute and I couldn't sleep. That when I realized I had changed something I shouldn't have. So now I have to go back and fix things I have changed and start back on what I came up with this lovely morning when my lovely husband rudely awaken me all because he forgot his keys to get in the house.

So you ask what did I do that I now have to change? Well, I had longer chapters. They ranged from 9 to 11 pages, that was double spaced, It might be a little less single spaced. I changed and they went down to 3 to 6 pages depending on what the chapter was about. So now i am going to back and put the chapters back to where they first where, where they belong.

Now, though, it is time to get ready for my daughter's teacher to come for about 1 and 1/2 then it will be lunch. After that i should be able to get to work. It will be nap time for my little lady. My son is less needy at the moment at age 5. Plus, he will soon be starting his first year of school. Exciting year ahead. I get to see my oldest baby go to school, although he was in a pre-k program, this is different. He also will be playing soccer for our local AYSO teams.
My little lady isn't ready just yet to start dance classes, but next summer I will be making the call to start, if the place excepts 3 year-old's that is. I also hope to have this first book for you at least started in the process of getting published.

I promise to keep you up-to-date on how far a I come with everything. With time getting tight for working due to school and sports, I will do my best. I goal is to have it complete by Thanksgiving or Christmas. I hope that with the first of the year for 2014 I can have it already to either be sent to a publisher/lit agent or ready to self-publish!

Have a wonderful day lovely readers!

When life hands me a lemon...

Sitting here working on my writing, I felt I was doing so well. Then everything started not to make sense. ERRRR! Anyone else ever have that problem? I'm going to sleep on it and try again in when I get up and after my daughter's teacher leaves.
It just feels like life threw me a lemon and I am now going to try and make lemonade, after I get some sleep! As crazy as it seems I almost feel like starting over. I have to say though, I'm not sure about that. I have been working on this for about 1.5 years now. Not so much the story I have to tell, but trying to get it all together. I might have to sit down and rethink how I am writing though.
Fingers crossed that I figure something out soon. I got major work ahead of me if I decide to throw out what I have now and start all over. I just think I have been going about partially wrong.

I'm going to head to bed now. It is 12:30 EST where I'm at. My children rise at about 8 a.m. and I need sleep to keep up with those 2 all day. Plus, I have to be alert for my son's parent meeting for soccer in the evening.

                   Good night my lovely readers!

My first...

As I said have in my "Get To Know Me" that I write YA (young adult) books, for the time being that is. I what to see what you have to say about what I am in the process of writing right now.

The title is "The Dark of Night."

     A description:

A young girl lost both her parents when she was thirteen. Four years later she find herself lost in a house full of family. She feels depressed and alone. Her older brother finally notices that she hasn't gotten back to her happy self before loosing their parents. He talks her into submission and she starts to see a therapist to deal with her issues.

     Where it goes:

The plan is to take you on the character's journey of realizes she needs to share a secret she holds. To let go of every all she thought she needed to hold on to.

I want this book to take you on a short journey through something that could happen. I don't know if this has ever happen to anyone out there, but it is possible. Just a fair warning, the journey for the character is short, not something that would actually happen in real life.

I would like your input about this. You can leave any comments below. You can contact me privately in the contact form as well. Think a friend might have an opinion about this share it with them. Thank you for reading!

Getting To Know Me!

Where to start? I am probably the most boring person you could meet. Other than loving books and writing, I have a big love for music. I like all kinds of music. Just depends on my mood as to what I might be listening to at any moment. I listen to most of my music on either www.iheartradio.com or www.pandora.com.

Most of my passion lies with my writing. I have been writing for myself since I was in the 9th grade. I graduated in 2002, so that tells you how long I have been writing. My first work never made it anywhere except in a pile of rubble after my childhood home burnt in the summer of 2000.
After we got settled into our new home I tried to rewrite everything I had finished only months before. My dad had seen it and read some of it and make some snide remarks about it. I my pride was shattered and I quit rewriting. It took me until recently to feel like it was time to start rewriting. This time it is a lot different for me. I am more mature and have a lot different point of view than what I had before.

Aside from writing I spend my days with my 2 little ones. I have a five-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl. As you may have guessed we are in the midst of potty training. Mainly, I am pulling my hair out and chasing them all day and watching PBS, Disney channel, and whatever other channels I allow them to watch during the day. That is just for the next few weeks. My oldest will start his first day of school in just a few short weeks, and he will play his first sport. I have a soccer player on my hands.
Because of them I do most of my writing at night after they have been put to bed. If I get time to write during the day, it is because my husband isn't at work. If I'm luck in that, I might get an hour. Really though I only get about 3 hours to work every night. That is what makes my progress some what slow.

I think I got most of my passion for writing from all the books I have read. I am a very avid reader for romance, but I don't write in that genre though. At least not at the moment. I also love to read young adult books. All fiction. I can't stand non-fiction. That is unless it is a blog or something to help me with certain things.

When I'm not writing I am having fun with my family. I have a few t.v. shows i like to watch during the day. Ellen is one of them. Mainly whatever is on ABC from the time I get up in the morning until allow the kids to take it over so I can clean and get things done around the house. If I'm not doing any of that or writing I'm reading. With any luck I can find a quiet place in my home to escape into a fictional world just to getaway from every day stress.
I want to say right now, I have not been publish as of this date 8-11-2013. We come from an average income to lower income family. We don't have much and we don't need much. I don't want anyone to get the impression that we have tons of money. I may stay home, but that doesn't mean we have all the money in the world for me to do so. It is just makes more sense with our family to do so than to pay a daycare hundreds of dollars each week for me to go work a part time job or even a full time job. Around this area most of our full time jobs are 12 hour shifts with rotating shifts and you have to start out at night shift a.k.a. third shift. We don't have many day cares that are open 24 hours all 7 days of the week. Sure there are the grandparents and siblings that might help, but why when we only need to have one of us working providing the things we need. We don't have to have the things we really want. It would be nice, but we don't need tons of stuff.
That is where I get my saying "Someday when we have money we can..." There are a lot of things I want to do too. That is for another time though. If you wish to know more, you can leave me a comment and I will try and get answers back as soon as I can!

Thank you for reading and be sure to become a follower, sign up to emails when I update me blog, share with your friends. I am planning on posting bits and pieces from my books to get your opinion about it. Once again thank you!
